Alphanumeric information

Alphanumeric information for Building Information Modeling (BIM) refers to data and information used in a BIM environment. This data can include a wide range of information relevant to the design, construction and management of buildings and infrastructure.

Examples of this are:

Identification numbers and designations:

-Part or component numbers (e.g. doorID: T001)

-Room numbers and names (e.g. room101 - conference room)

-Project numbers or order numbers

Properties and attributes:

-Dimensions (length, width, height)

-Material properties (e.g. concreteC25/30)

-Manufacturer and model information(e.g. HVAC system: Model XYZ123)

Classifications and Codes:

-Building classifications (e.g.according to DIN or ISO)

-Security and fire protectionclassifications (e.g. fire resistance class F90)

-Standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 19650 )

Time and cost information:

-Schedules and deadlines (e.g.completion date: December 31, 2024)

-Cost estimates and budgets (e.g.total costs: 1,500,000 EUR)

Documentation and reports:

-Maintenance and inspection reports(e.g. maintenance date: June 15, 2023)

-Operating manuals and instructions

-Protocols and checklists (e.g.security checklist: completed)

Spatial and functional data:

-Use and function of rooms (e.g.office space, storage room)

-Occupancy plans and capacities (e.g.max. occupancy: 50 people)

Alphanumeric information is essential to ensure accurate, organized and understandable representation of the various aspects of a construction project. They support collaboration between the various parties involved and enable efficient planning, implementation and management of the construction project.
