PIR - Project Information Requirements

PIR - Project Information Requirements

Project Information Requirements (PIR) define the information necessary for a construction project to meet strategic information objectives and serve as a basis for decisions. These requirements are typically established at the beginning of a project and guide the collection, creation, organization, and delivery of information throughout the project lifecycle. PIRs specify what information is needed, who is responsible for providing it, what format it should be in, and when it is needed. These specifications are critical to the successful use of BIM (Building Information Modeling), as they give all parties a clear understanding of what information is needed and how it should be provided. This helps to make collaboration more efficient, minimize errors, and optimize the construction and operations process.
